An unincorporated neighborhood east of Santee with subdivisions sprouting in the hills and valleys. They go by the names of Eucalyptus Hills, Moreno, Lakeside and Winter Gardens to name a few. Lake Jennings offers recreation to the area.

Served by the Lakeside Union Elementary School District, the homes come in a mix of the new and the fairly new, custom homes, tract homes, apartments and mobile homes. The mountains are a real presence with a nice desert feel. The weather is crisp and hotter than the coastal towns but in the evening you will find homeowners out with hoses trying to coax some green out of their lawns. Many homes have enough acreage to allow horses. Homes and apartments are still going up in this area, including some Navy units.

If you want the country feeling, take highway 67 out of Santee or Interstate 8 out of El Cajon. About 21 miles to downtown San Diego - in rush hours, long miles.
